No performance. No pretending. Just real people navigating faith, doubt, and everything in between — together.
Abhaile (Irish for "home") is a community for people who love Jesus but maybe don't love what "church" has become. It's also for the burnt-out, the questioning, the ones who left — and the ones who never walked in.
We gather online and occasionally in person across the globe. We worship without production value expectations. We pray without formulas. We talk about hard things without easy answers.
Whether you call yourself a Christian, used to, or never have — you're welcome here. Full stop.
In all honesty, yes, I am a follower of Jesus. But I also have my own personal experiences with church hurt and I understand what it's like to wrestle with all of life's hardest questions.
I grew up in an unhealthy home, with parents who've experienced their own church hurt way before I was born. Many of the long-term consequences of that unhealthy environment still affects my everyday life today.
Years following up after giving my life to Jesus, I became involved in many various missions organizations. I also worked in a church context and made connections with many people. Unfortunately, most of these seasons did not conclude with life-giving outcomes like they should have. In fact, those experiences left me feeling more pressured, and frustrated, and resulted in more doubts, more wrestling, and more questions than ever before.
I created this community to give that much needed space that all of us who can relate to things like this need to voice those hurts, ask the real questions, share your stories, sit in calming silence, or anything else that you need.
You have a place at the table here, and I'm glad that you joined us.
Warmly, Emily.
Live and pre-recorded worship — raw, unpolished, and real. No fog machines required.
Live calls, open dialogue, and space to be honest about where you actually are.
Occasional in-person gatherings across the globe. Because some things need to happen face-to-face.
We built Abhaile around the things we wished existed when we needed them most.
Your doubts are welcome. Your questions aren't threats. You don't have to perform faith to be here.
We talk about deconstruction, mental health, politics, sexuality — the things are often left out in churches.
Explore at your own pace. There's no curriculum, no membership requirements, no spiritual KPIs.
Every background, every identity, every story. If you're human and you're searching, you're one of us.
